Jugular Vein Septic Phlebitis (Lemierre's Syndrome)

- Suspect in teenagers with pharyngitis/fever and neck pain/swelling.

- May occur as a rare complication of otitis media, tonsillitis, or dental infections.

Fusobacterium necrophorum

 
Polymicrobial (1/3):

Oral anaerobes
Streptococcus spp
